Letter from the very Reverend Stephen Waine, Dean of Chichester

"Dear Parishioners

We are pleased to confirm that Chichester Cathedral is now open for individual private prayer and reflection. Details of opening times, and information on the measures we have introduced to ensure the safety of visitors and staff can be found on our website. Please read this information before your visit. In addition, following the announcement on 23rd June by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, public worship will resume from Sunday 5th July 2020. We are aiming to hold short services on Sunday 5th at 8am, 9.30am and 11am, closing with Said Evening Prayer at 3.30pm. We look forward to welcoming worshippers and in this way continuing the Cathedral’s witness to the love of God for his people which has endured in this city for 900 years. As we await further Government guidance, in due course we will be releasing more details so please check our website regularly. You may wish to sign up to the Cathedral’s weekly E-Newsletter. We also want you to know that we continue to follow the Diocesan Calendar and pray for the parishes of the Diocese day by day. You can also find prayer and worship resources on the Cathedral website including the Sunday Eucharist each week, and an Order for Spiritual Communion.  With warmest good wishes, The Very Reverend Stephen Waine The Dean of Chichester
